Commuter Student Representative Role Description

  • Be a representative of student views to the University and the Union
  • Regularly talk and listen to Commuter students bringing forward their feedback to the University and Union. Complete the engagement circle by ensuring all activity and outcomes are fed back to the membership of the Union.
  • Working with other elected officers to ensure that commuter students are considered in the activities and campaigns carried out by the Union.
  • Remain accountable to Union Council through the submission of a report to Council for their approval.  This report should provide a summary of the key activities undertaken and include recommendations for further development of the role, to be voted on at the end of the year.
  • Sit on Union Council as a full voting member.

As the Commuter Student Representative you will:-

  • Gain fantastic transferable skills, including leadership, communication and project management.
  • Gain experience attending formal meetings with senior University staff.
  • Opportunity to gain accreditation, including the Leicester Award.
  • Make a lasting impact on the student experience at Leicester.
