Democratic Procedures Committee - Your Role

The roles are seen as crucial to the operation of the Union and are designed to allow you to continue with your studies whilst carrying out your role. You will work as a team to oversee the operation of the democratic structures ensuring that they are as open and accessible to students as possible. In addition you will be responsible for all Union elections/referendums, operation of Union Council and interpreting the Union Bye Laws.

As a Democratic Procedures Committee member you will:-

  • Gain fantastic transferable skills, including leadership, communication, project management and attention to detail.
  • Gain experience of reviewing and amending reports and proposals.
  • Opportunity to gain accreditation and Leicester Award.
