In the 2021/22 academic year our society achieved so much...
In our first term we launched our food waste caddy campaign to encourage the university towards better food waste management. Alongside help with the SU and social impact team, we are hoping to lauch this campaign this September in student accomodation for 2022/23 student! Additionally, we became members of the green bubble group, made up of 5 sustainable societies within the university, so we could collaborate to make positive change not just on campus but locally too! But, it wasn't all serious, we also enjoyed coffee mornings, film nights, collaborations with plants and gardening society and arts and crafts society, as well as hosting a COP26 workshop to get us to think positively about the future of our planet.
However, as we headed into term two we started working harder with spreading the word about our caddy campaign, with stalls and blog posts. Also, we started a project working with a school, doing litter picks to encourage reflection on the litter surrounding the local area, and the waste we create.
As we head into next year we are only more motivated to continue the amazing work of this society and we would love for YOU to get involved! Come and see us at a freshers fair, or follow our social media accounts to keep up to date with our events, and DM us to join our wattsapp group chat! :
