Leicester Glee Club is a place for everybody who loves musical theatre, where you can find your inner star and let it shine!

We have managed to double in size since our formation, and are full of supportive members who encourage creativity and inclusivity.

 

During Glee's first year as a society, we won the New Student Group of the Year Award. We continued to grow as a society, putting on 2 showcases during our 2nd year and won the Student Group Event Award and the Outstanding Contribution to the Arts Award!!!

 

 

In our 3rd year we put on our biggest showcase to date, with about 50 members and almost selling out the Sue Townsend Theatre! 

This year we will put on two showcases, and the best ones yet! We welcome anyone who loves to have a good time and sing, whether that be professionally, at karaoke or just in the shower! All singing abilities are welcome so don't be shy!

How can I get involved?

• We will have regular rehearsals every Mondays (in Union Studio 0.13) and Thursdays (Liberation Room) 18:30-20:30. Instructions on how to get to each room will be on the instagram (@uolglee)
• There is no requirement to perform in showcases, we are all here to enjoy singing in any way possible, so if getting on stage isn't your thing, that's no problem!
• We will mainly focus on preparing group songs for the showcases taking place this year (one in early December and another in March), as well as working with soloists, duets and smaller groups.
• We will also have two socials per month to do karaoke, just dance and much more!

 

Come to our Give it a Go sessions and get a feel of what our society is all about!! :)
