For all those interested in writing, spoken word poetry or simply making new friends - this may be the society for you.
It doesn't matter what level you're at, whether you're a blooming poet or an aspiring novelist - we don’t expect you to be the next Shakespeare (at least not yet anyway).
We aim to provide a relaxed and friendly environment where members can share, create and develop their work whilst learning from each other.
Aside from holding weekly group writing sessions, we also provide up to date information on competitions, a page for you to display your work and perhaps, most importantly, a chance to meet and talk with like-minded people.

This term
Weekly writing sessions will resume from 14/01/26–25/03/26 every Wednesday from 17:00–19:00. We'll be in SBB 1.04 every week, with an exception on 18/03/26, where we'll be in 3.01 PG Board room. We hope to see you there!
Our weekly meetings follow a four-week activity cycle:
W1: Quiet independent writing session
W2: Writing workshops - we'll either go through members' writing extracts (from the submission form above) or a published piece of literature and do some analysis as a group, looking at how differet authors and styles can impact the feel of a piece of writing, and how we can apply it to our own pieces!
W3: Quiet independent writing session
W4: Peer feedback session - Everyone partners up and shares some of what they've been writing, giving you an opoportunity to get more focused, one-to-one feedback, and also practice your own critical analysis skills!
*WE WILL NOT BE ON DURING READING WEEKS
