Are you interested in Japanese culture or do you like Japan? Are you a Japanese student? Missing Japan badly? Are you looking for a place to meet with Japanese students or simply want to make friends from different countries? Do you want to experience Japanese traditional events and celebration? Or are you looking for a place to have fun? Japan Society is here for you.
We aim to create a fun environment where Japanese students can meet fellow Japanese students who are currently studying at the University of Leicester.
We welcome students from all backgrounds/nationalities to join our activities and meet ups!
Some of you may notice that we have been disaffiliated from the university. This was because we were not able to gather a full committee through the election process at the end of last year. However, we have assembled enough people now to get going again in the new academic year and are working to get reaffiliated once the autumn term starts. We will have the bulk of our updates on our instagram and our WhatsApp group chat, so if you are keen, keep an eye out on there!

Welcome to the 26/27 Student Group Elections. Please note before nominating that manifestos are compulsory for your nomination to be eligible! There is a minimum word count of 10 and anybody without a manifesto will be disqualified. Guidance on writing a manifesto can be found below. All nominees and voters must have a 25/26 membership to the student group. If you need help deciding on which role to go for or if you are unsure on the responsibilities of the role, please check the role descriptions document below.
