Welcome to the Mature Student Society page. We aim to represent the mature student body within the student union and provide events and facilities tailed for the mature students at the University of Leicester. This includes liaising with the student union and university regarding any suggestions made by our members and running events tailored for mature students. Including plans to run careers talks and events timed to fit in with students that commute, with some of which are family-friendly.
The university considers any student which is over 21 at the start of their course a mature student and eligible to join the society. If you are under 21 and the society events appeal you are still welcome to attend.
We look forward to meeting you, and you are welcome to join our Facebook group to keep updated on society's activities.
We have a limited number of lockers that can be rented out for the year (details on how to apply will be published at the start of the academic year).
The costs associated with locker hire for 2022/23 will be:
Society membership - £2
Associate membership £4
Hire charge (per year) - £5
Deposit (returnable) - £5
All profits from the rent of locker space will go towards funding events and refreshments for mature students.

Welcome to the 26/27 Student Group Elections. Please note before nominating that manifestos are compulsory for your nomination to be eligible! There is a minimum word count of 10 and anybody without a manifesto will be disqualified. Guidance on writing a manifesto can be found below. All nominees and voters must have a 25/26 membership to the student group. If you need help deciding on which role to go for or if you are unsure on the responsibilities of the role, please check the role descriptions document below.
