AfroCollective Dance Society is a vibrant and inclusive space dedicated to celebrating African culture and Afro-diasporic dance styles through movement, music, and community. We explore a range of styles influenced by Afrobeats, Amapiano, Dancehall, and traditional African rhythms, bringing together culture, creativity, and self-expression.
Our society is open to all levels, from complete beginners to experienced dancers. We pride ourselves on creating a supportive and welcoming environment where members can build confidence, develop their dance skills, and express themselves freely. Beyond dance training, AfroCollective is about connection, fostering friendships, cultural appreciation, and a strong sense of belonging.
Throughout the year, we host weekly dance sessions, workshops, performances, and social events, giving members opportunities to grow both on and off the dance floor. Welcome to the 26/27 Student Group Elections. Please note before nominating that manifestos are compulsory for your nomination to be eligible! There is a minimum word count of 10 and anybody without a manifesto will be disqualified. Guidance on writing a manifesto can be found below. All nominees and voters must have a 25/26 membership to the student group.
