The Effective Altruism movement is a worldwide movement dedicated to working out the best ways to help the world, both now and in the future. EA research and charities range from tackling global poverty, through programs such as GiveDirectly, which is providing basic income to villages in deprived areas and Evidence Actions deworming initative, which helps to prevent malnourishment, improve school attendance and improve overall long term health in African children by providing cheap, simple and reliable medications, to organisations helping to secure humanities long term future, through research and policy work in biodefense and nuclear security, among others. So if you want to work out the best way to make the world a better place, and perhaps how to use your career to do that, or maybe you're just interested in problems of moral philosophy, please re-start this society!
Welcome to the 26/27 Student Group Elections. Please note before nominating that manifestos are compulsory for your nomination to be eligible! There is a minimum word count of 10 and anybody without a manifesto will be disqualified. Guidance on writing a manifesto can be found below. All nominees and voters must have a 25/26 membership to the student group.
